An impression of the Durngate Centre - seen from North Walls
“Ever since I came across Trinity I have been impressed by what they do… Their current premises are so cramped that this project is vital. I urge you to help in any way you can.”
John West, Chairman, Hampshire County Council (2005-06)

Services at The Trinity Centre in St Paul’s Hill have outgrown the premises and Trinity has secured planning permission for a new purpose-designed building at Durngate Place on the site of the old Red Cross building. Winchester City Council has offered Trinity the leasehold on a long lease at a peppercorn rent.
There is widespread support for the proposal. The Big Lottery, in their autumn round of grants, approved one of their biggest sums in the South-East to kick-start the fundraising campaign. Since then the Henry Smith Charity, the Garfield Weston Foundation and the Tudor Trust have committed significant sums. Hampshire County Council has committed £100,000 to date. Many other smaller trusts have also contributed. Please click the link for full details of our fundraising to date.

The Durngate Centre has been designed by Househam Henderson Architects of Winchester.
The building will be available for community use whenever possible; and nearby residents will be involved in consultations as the design goes to the detailing stage.
