THE DURNGATE APPEAL

An impression of the Durngate Centre - looking towards North Walls
You may know that we are intending to move to a new Centre at Durngate Place in 2008. The estimated cost of the new building, including the cost of the leasehold of the new site contributed by Winchester City Council, is £2.54m.
Hampshire County Council has supported us with £100,000 to date. We are delighted to have received £250,000 from the Big Lottery Fund after a lengthy application process and extensive scrutiny of our plans and current operation. Similarly the endorsements of the Henry Smith Charity, Garfield Weston Foundation and the Tudor Trust, who have committed £200,000, £100,000 and £60,000 respectively, have been enormously encouraging and gave the campaign the momentum it needed. We have had many other donations from smaller trusts, companies and individuals for which we are also extremely grateful.
