Trinity is open from 8.30 – 15.30 daily and provides a safe space for those suffering the effects of homelessness or vulnerable housing. With warm food and activities such as art classes, table tennis and the lovely garden surrounding, Bradbury House is a retreat within the City.

These lessons are one of the many learning opportunities available to Trinity’s Service Users. We see people gaining new skills from engaging with the classes here, often leading to enrollment in education or employment!

Nathan’s Story

Nathan is only 18 years old and was brought up in Winchester. Just over a year ago he found himself homeless after a family relationship breakdown and after sofa surfing at friends’ for a few weeks, found himself facing sleeping rough on the streets – a dangerous and traumatising experience.

Feeling increasingly desperate, Nathan was lucky enough to hear about Trinity through a friend and although unsure of how the charity could actually help him, he bravely approached us for help.

We immediately assigned one of our experienced Project Workers to work with Nathan on a 1:1 basis and through our direct intervention, successfully secured accommodation for him in one of the city’s hostels. Although not a permanent solution, it saved him from a cold and uncertain life out on the city streets.

Through his regular engagement with Trinity, Nathan’s life has improved beyond recognition. A passion for horticulture was sparked through Trinity’s Gardening Club and now Nathan is about to start a Horticultural course at nearby Sparsholt College, which he is extremely excited about.

He told us: ‘it would have been very difficult, if not impossible, to get the support I needed locally without Trinity’s help…they have helped me so much …getting on a course and helping me stand on my own two feet as an independent person.”

Big Sleep Out Sign Up

Eight days, eighty two miles and a lot of mud. Winchester and District Soroptimists took on the challenge of walking the boundary of Winchester District to raise money for four local homelessness charities which raised over £4000! “After 8 days of hard walking we have between us circumnavigated the boundary of Winchester District and learnt how cold and miserable as well as delightful and fun it can be to be on the road. However, we all had homes to go to and baths to soak in” said President Gill Steel. A huge thanks to all who walked, supported, and sponsored this event!

Trinity has been very kindly chosen as one of the Estate Agents Foundation’s charities to support in 2013. We are delighted at this new partnership and to work with local estate agents. EAF visited Trinity’s base at Bradbury House and said it is a “great organisation helping the vulnerable in the Winchester area.”

Winchester Real Ale & Cider Festival

This year Trinity are fortunate enough to have been chosen as the supported charity at this year’s festival.

This festival is organised wholly by volunteers of the South Hants branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) and will feature over a hundred different real ales, ciders, perries and foreign bottled beers.
